cleaning the mending script

This is the update of the script for mending an interrupted scan ( just one single scan, the script for gluing together two or more broken scans is another script) I used it today for fixing an interrupted scan, and I refurbished it a little bit. The procedure comprises also some manual operations that are detailed at the beginning of the script for future reference, and maybe one day or another we will make it completely automatic.
