add frequency option to Sampling Counter
(discussed with J.Drnec and @papillon )
- add a frequency parameter to
SamplingCounter
(1 by default)- any acquisition with counting time below the frequency rate will result in 1 single reading
- Examples:
- with a Wago counter with freq. == 1 Hz, doing
ct()
orct(0.2)
will only take 1 value - with a Keithley counter with freq. == 5 Hz, doing
ct()
will read 5 times at maximum- can be less times as communication round-trip time is part of the acquisition
- machine current could have a lower freq. like 0.1 Hz...
- with a Wago counter with freq. == 1 Hz, doing
The default mode would not be changed (MEAN), but there would be much less readings
=== original issue ===
(seen on ID31)
BL staff made a SoftCounter
interrogating a Wago. The default mode is MEAN like all SamplingCounter
.
However the Wago does not seem to like too much being in a scan, as we read so fast... It gives a lot of timeout errors.
What about changing SoftCounter default mode to SINGLE ?
