Behavior of automatically checked "centered axis" confusing.

The behavior of the automatically checked "centered axis" is confusing when reconstructing a sub-volume. The cropped size is correct, but it shifts the image seemingly arbitrarily. Unchecking the box and the sub region tab does what you would expect. What does centered axis actually mean? I remembered to uncheck the box because I think I had the same issue before with 180° scans
