Stop writing file?
@sole @andy.gotz @demariaa With the data policy implemented in Bliss the Nexus writer is writing to the same files as the metadatamanager (both data and master file). So we need a short term solution here.
As for the long term, Bliss is not pushing metadata to the metadata server and the server is not pulling anything from Redis either. In the end all metadata has become data. Some of this data can be pushed as "metadata" to ICAT because we want to search for it in the datahub. But I no longer see a use for the files created by the metadatamanager.
As for the master file: do we actually have a use case to the master file which links to the dataset roots (what the metadatamanager does) instead of the dataset scans (what the Nexus writer currently does)? The use case for the later is easy browsing through scans and comparing them (I have a master file on the sample level as well). We talked about this before but now we need a decision.
