As a user, `Stop refreshing logs` button lacks feedback

As a user, I am not sure of what this button does. Is it a one time action ?

Or, does it stop refreshing logs as long as I am on the page ? Is this setting kept when I refresh ? If so, perhaps a checkbox would be more appropriate ?
