We are ready to give a try to the Scrum methodology for the Bliss project and I plan to keep a diary of how everything develops, so we can learn for the future.
Scrum is an iterative and incremental software development framework, the idea being that we work on time-boxed iterations (sprints) focusing on the most important items first (Sprint Backlog), aiming to have a demo of the items achieved at the end of each iteration.
As of 25/08/2017 the team members are:
Sebastien Petitdemange - Team Member
Tiago Coutinho - Team Member
Cyril Guilloud - Team Member
Vincent Michel - Team Member
Matias Guijarro - Team Member
Emmanuel Papillon - Product Owner (provides the Product Backlog - work items)
Jordi Bodera - Scrum Master (organises meetings and helps with Scrum)
We also have a first version of the Product Backlog (list of items to complete) that Emmanuel provided and Jordi added to GitLab.
In order to see all the Product Backlog Items (items of work to complete) please visit the issue list and filter by story label.
The 1st Sprint Planning meeting will take place Monday 28/08/2017 before lunch and we aim to:
Check team availability for the duration of the sprint (two weeks)
Agree dates and times for other meetings (daily scrum, scrum review, scrum retrospective)
Emmanuel to present the Product Backlog and initial priorities
Team members evaluate what can realistically done in the sprint (Sprint Backlog) based on priorities
Q & A about PB items
Agree definition of "done" and how to demo for each item in the sprint
Task breakdown of PBIs in the sprint
As a result of the Sprint Planning the Issue Board will be updated and a new page in the wiki created to explain how it went and what was agreed.
