Replace "number of points" with "number of intervals" (was: Inconsistency of scan commands)
When taking one of the standard commands in bliss, bliss is reasoning in terms of points while SPEC was reasoning in terms of number of intervals. That leads to inconsistencies that translate into real troubles downstream.
Some examples:
-
the PyMca RegularMesh plugin is not working (@denolf) because it calculates a wrong number of points and interprets the mesh as not being completed. You can claim it is a PyMca problem if you want.
-
an HDF5 file directly generated by bliss and an HDF5 file following a conversion from SPEC contain different coordinates for the same layout and commands.
I would say that if a command is not going to have the same behavior as a SPEC command is more convenient to have a totally different command name than one with the same name and different behavior.
