discussion about live channels
During discussions yesterday the idea of specific live-channels in Bliss emerged. These channels should not be written to the final data file but are intended for live (visual) feedback only. Some examples that came to our minds would be:
- last frame of a lima camera (even if the image channel is not part of the measurement group)
- for images taken with long exposure-time: the accumulated intensity in the ongoing acquisition until the current moment
- accumulation process of MCAs (live spectrum)
- preprocessed data
- sinograms for tomography (managed by lima)
- element specific images based on maps acquired with MCA
- data calculated by lima plugins (linked to #322 (closed) )
- publishing number of points already done in a scan vs. expected number of points
I guess feedback of @valentin.valls ,@sfisher ,@marcus.oscarsson and @vergaral would be helpful to see the idea of live-channels could be interesting and would bring some added value compared to what is available today.
On a technical level it is not yet clear if these channels should be attached to a scan or if they should be more global and rather be attached to a device/counter.
